Bar Review of The Watering Hole Sports Bar in Green Bay, WI

It was lunchtime and girlfriend and I were out and about in the Howard Suamico area. Whenever I’m in that area I pass by The Watering Hole. Now, I know you’ve seen it; it’s this gigantic sports bar that’s right off of Velp. I’ve actually been to The Watering Hole, but never inside. You see, they host the Polar Plunge, which I have attended but never participated in because I’m not crazy. Well, I am a little crazy, just not that crazy. One of my friends did it last year and I had to watch her in action. Actually it seemed like the entire town of Green Bay was watching these crazy people jump into icy water. It’s great to see a town come out and support such a wonderful cause and it’s also great that The Watering Hole is a sponsor. The Watering Hole also hosts a number of other fundraising events, which in my opinion is pretty cool.
However, what’s not so cool about the Watering Hole is that the place is kinda dirty. Like really really kinda dirty. We got there about 11:30ish and there were no clean tables and it wasn’t because they had a crazy rush from 11 to 11:20 and then everybody left. It’s just dirty, which is unfortunate. Okay, moving on. When you walk in there is a bar directly in front and off to the left are the tables. There are huge windows that overlook the water, so we opted to sit there. There are also huge windows in the back that overlook some of the volleyball courts. That’s right, you can play volleyball here on their indoor courts! I know they have Leagues and stuff, so check out their website for the scoop on that. They do have an outdoor patio deck, which would be awesome to sit at in the summer weather. It looked like the patio was closed for the season, but get ready for next year, spring is just around the corner, right?
The Watering Hole offers more than just volleyball courts for your entertainment, there are also pool tables, some dart boards, a foosball table and an internet jukebox.
I had a full work schedule that day so to drink I ordered an Orange Slice. But for those of you who are inclined to have something a little stronger than orange bubbly have no fear, this sports bar offers on draught Bud, Bud Light, Miller Lite, Coors Light, Blue Moon, Fat Tire and Leinie’s Honey. Sorry, I couldn’t quite make it out. In bottles they carry more of the Bud, Miller and Coors line while also giving you some more flavorful choices such as, Shiner Bock, Corona and more Leinies. I should mention they have a fully stocked liquor bar too. Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus and there are also Happy Hour specials! Happy Hour is Monday thru Friday from 2PM – 6PM, and you can get your double bubble on.
