The Delta Jets Band Review at Nakashima Lounge in Green Bay, Wisconsin

The Delta Jets performing at Nakashima Lounge in Green Bay, WisconsinSarah - GreenBayNightLife.com Band ReviewsBy Sarah

Delta blues style music, according to Dale Anderson, represents the real music. Dale has been steeped in this southern bare bones blues music for 30 plus years. Educating audiences on its origins, dating back to the early 1930's, and the great artists who pioneered its style laying down the groundwork for rock 'n' roll. What grabs you when you hear The Delta Jets is the raw soulful sounds of instrument and vocals, the two are seemingly interchangeable. True to this very influential style, band members Dale Anderson slide guitar/vocals, Jody Vanesky harmonica/vocals, and David Will on drums, capture the bayou sound which at times is sexy, smoky, and slow and other times a current of energy that moves and shakes your core. Playing songs from legendary musicians the likes of Willie Brown, Muddy Waters, and Robert Johnson. The Delta Jets hold nothing back infusing all the right instruments acoustic guitar, ukulele, harmonica, bass, drums, and my favorite the slide or resonator guitar that has such a distinctive sound. Dale Anderson has written many amazing authentic blues originals that you can hear on The Delta Jets "Chairfactory Blues" CD. The title referencing the fact that Paramount Records, from 1929 to 1932, was located in the Wisconsin Chair Factory in Grafton, Wisconsin. Some of the blues recorded by Paramount include blues greats Skip James, Charley Patton, Son House, Louise Johnson, and Ida Cox to name a few. Expect more upcoming originals from the collaboration of Dale Anderson and Jody "Joe" Vanesky as they are just beginning to tap into their groove.
