Restaurant Review of Black Sheep Restaurant in Green Bay, WI
By Patricia Summerfield
July 10, 2016
Black Sheep Pub & Grill is a restaurant located on the far East side of Green Bay close to the University of Green Bay by the Bay. The restaurant has been renovated from the previous owners and they have added a beautiful very large brick patio complete with bar. Black Sheep has a wonderful diverse menu offering comfy Wisconsin favorites alongside healthy upscale dishes. The interior is large with a massive full bar, with many tables, and a few TVs located throughout. The restaurant is immaculate and the décor is done in a comfortable stylish fun atmosphere. The outside patio is tastefully finished off with a large padded sofa in front of gas contemporary fireplace, and white lights which are strung on all the railings. There are many umbrella tables for added dining.
It was the lunch hour and I was immediately greeted in a friendly manner and I was told I could sit anywhere. It was a beautiful day out so I opted to dine outside. My server came quickly she was very personable and gave me a menu and told me of the special for that day; which was a beer and hamburger with French fries for $8.00. I saw they featured a seafood salad on a wrap with a choice of one side for $10.00. I inquired if it was possible if I could have the seafood salad over lettuce versus the wrap. My server said she would check and came back saying yes it was possible for the same price as the wrap. That was fine with me. I also had a choice of one side and I ordered their sautéed green beans.
My salad looked very appealing with a good amount of the seafood mixture over mixed greens. The seafood mixture was made with fresh shrimp and real crab, pimentos, capers, mayo, green onions and fresh lemon. It was delicious the flavors were all integrated nicely and not one ingredient overpowered the other. The sauce was creamy light and the shrimp and crab were very fresh. It was so refreshing that they used fresh crab and not the imitation variety. The sautéed green beans were cooked to a tender slightly crispy texture and evenly coated in light butter.
