Restaurant Review of Texas Roadhouse Green Bay, WI

Heehaw! I was in the mood for some fun western cowboy style atmosphere and down home country cooking, so I went to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse. It is a lively and hopping restaurant with peanut shells scattered on the floors, western décor with neon signs hanging everywhere, and a large bar located in the center of the room. While you are dining, if you are lucky, you will see the staff and whoever wants to join in do a country line dance. On the tables are metal silver buckets filled with shelled peanuts and also an empty matching one for your empty shells. But if you prefer having more fun or letting the kids go wild, go ahead and let the shells fall on the floor.
The menu is large and they offer many choices. I ordered the Dallas 6 oz fillet for $14.99 which includes a choice of two sides -
I chose the house salad with their homemade ranch dressing and a cup of their chili, which has shredded cheese and chopped onions on it, why not bring it on. My server was outgoing and very knowledgeable about the menu and how everything is made. She informed me that the dinner rolls are fresh baked daily and are served with cinnamon honey butter and the steaks also are hand cut daily. The white dinner rolls were very warm and soft. The salad consisted of romaine lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped boiled egg, tomatoes, and croutons. The dressing was served in a plastic 2oz cup.
The salad did not have much flavor - it looked colorful and was cold but was definitely pre-made earlier in the day. I also ordered grilled mushrooms and onions for $1.99, which included two types of sauce that I did not opt for. My steak was extremely tender and had a nice flavor; the mushrooms and onions were loaded on top and done well. The chili had chunks of hamburger swimming in beans andsauce, but it tasted more like mild spicy beans. The service and my food came quickly and efficiently.
