Restaurant Review of The Ten O One Club in Green Bay, WI

Stuffed Mushrooms at Ten O One in Green Bay, WIGreen Bay Restaurant Reviews by Patricia SummerfieldBy Patricia Summerfield
    February 3, 2010
The Ten O One Club restaurant is located near downtown East Green Bay, and has been renovated into a beautiful pub and restaurant. The building is tastefully done with much attention to detail with rich dark woodwork, exposed brick walls, beautifully redone hardwood flooring and ceramic tiles. Ceiling fans and silk green plants are located throughout the building. The tables have nice laminated tops and modern frosted votive candles for decoration. Next to the hostess stand is an eye-catching huge statue of a chubby chef which blends in nicely with the style of decor. The atmosphere is fun and cozy with jazzy blues playing in the background and all the staff was happily bustling about. I also appreciated the fact that the restaurant was nice and toasty warm inside and not chilly, especially in these winter months.

Ten O One had a 20 minute wait so I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and was pleasantly surprised that I was poured a full glass not just 1/4 full. The wine also had a nice smooth flavor to it. After about the accorded time, I was seated to my table and my server then introduced himself as he brought me the menu and ice water which was served in a plastic glass with a straw in it. I decided to order their Smoked Salmon Salad for $9.59; I was looking forward to ordering their Hong Kong Chicken Salad which I had read on their website menu before coming out, but I saw that they no longer had it listed on their menu anymore. To start with, I ordered their signature appetizer, the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms for $7.99. As I was waiting for my appetizer I noticed I did not have any silverware or napkins and it took quite some time before I saw my server again. I was then brought out my appetizer which consisted of three large mushrooms stuffed with a crab mixture with mozzarella and fresh parmesan cheese melted on top. The crab stuffing had a pleasant taste and if you like cheese you would like this appetizer, for the cheese was thick and gooey melted over the mushrooms. After I finished my appetizer it took too long before I was served my salad. I noticed at least two other tables that been seated quite a bit later than me, but they had a different server, and they had finished eating and already left. How long does it Smoked Salmon Salad at Ten O One Restaurant in Green Bay, WItake to make and serve a cold salad? It took over 35 minutes before my salad was brought out. My server was friendly but he was slow, and not very attentive or efficient, forgetting such things as clearing the plates off the table. It can put a damper on your meal when you have service like that. My salad consisted of smoked salmon, toasted almonds, feta cheese, red onion and cherry tomatoes, over a bed of mixed greens. It was a very large salad and I liked the fact that the salmon was shredded and spread over the lettuce. The salmon had a nice salty, smoky flavor which complemented the feta cheese and red onion. I ordered the sesame dressing to go with my salad which added a good burst of flavor to my meal. Also included with the salad was a bread stick which tasted on the bland side. I felt the food at the Ten O One Club was appropriately priced for the quality of the meal.

Bar Review of the Ten O' One Club in Green Bay, WI

Bar in Ten O' One Club in Green Bay, WIEND - Wanna Be Bar, Tavern, and Pub Reviewer in Green Bay, WIBy END
    November 6, 2009
I've been in the middle of moving the past week and a half. Let me just tell you, moving is the worst thing ever. EVER. And I wish I could say that our place was move in ready, but alas, I can't. Not even close. So, in the middle of my painting-the-house-frenzy my girlfriend called wanting to hangout because I've been such a recluse lately; I had to politely decline. This is the same friend who does not understand the meaning of "no." But with a promise to help finish painting in exchange for a quick drink I was ready to go. Paint in my hair and all... which shows I'm that hardcore of a party girl or just that desperate to have someone help me paint, you choose.

I meet my girlfriend at the Ten O' One Club since it's not too far from where I live. Pulling into the parking lot around the back, I hopped outta my car and tried to smooth my paint encrusted hair one last time. Thank my lucky stars the Ten O' One is one of those bars that keeps the lights low! Perfect. We met during their Happy Hour which was $2.50 Pints on draught. Guinness, Smithwicks, Leinie Honey Weiss, Blue Moon, and Bud Light graced their tappers. Bud Light, it was. Their bottle selection was much larger, with Bud products, Miller products, Pabst, Landshark, Stella, Becks, Becks Dark, Rolling Rock, New Castle, Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams, Amstel Light, and Hacker Pschorr. There was also a Martini list with a drink called Hooch. I'm so coming back and trying Hooch, not only does it sound delicious (Grey Goose Orange, Peach Schnapps, and cranberry juice) it also has a great name, Hooch. Who doesn't want to say, "I want a Hooch, please?" That word makes me laugh. Forgive me, it's the paint fumes getting to my brain.
    Moving on.
The inside of Ten o One is top notch. When you first walk in, you're on the Pints at Ten O' One Club in Green Bay, WIrestaurant side and if you walk straight thru you will be on the bar side. Both rooms are decorated with older movie posters and the old fashioned classic Guinness signs. As I said before, they keep the lights a little low and with the exposed brick and dark wood finishes the place exudes warmth and coziness. And I suppose it doesn't hurt that they keep their heat blastin'. On the bar side there is an old school telephone booth that doesn't look outta place with the theme. No, I did not go and see if it still works, you can do that, then let me know, I wanted to go look but it felt so good to sit, my body was not getting up anytime soon.
The Ten o One Club had such a relaxed and inviting atmosphere that I'll definitely be back. Next time I'll even shower. With a decent beer list, Martini list, a small wine list and a full bar there is an option for everyone.
