This place may not be pretty but the food is amazing -- Fresh, made right there on the spot and good sized portions. I ordered the Guaraches with steak and it was delicious. They loaded it up with meat too. My friend got the tostada with chicken and that was good too. They put fresh avacado slices on the tostada which was cool. As I said, the place is kinda scary when you walk in, but it's clean, cheap, the service is friendly and the food's good. What more could you want?

This place looks like a dive and something confusing is there's a sign in spanish that says, "If you want to order in just have a seat, otherwise wait at the counter." Still, the food is very good and it reminds me of being in the little border towns, where the cooks are making your meal from scratch while gossiping about how their children are doing in school (en espanol) Food that's good is their gorditas. They take a little longer to make, but are a meal in themselves. They serve this with a selection of red and green salsa and chopped onions, cilantro, and lime on the side. The red salsa is a chile de arbol and sesame salsa and I could drink it by the gallon. You also have your choice of meats and I like their carne asada which IS grilled (you can hear it grilling and if you look over the counter can see it too) Coke in a bottle, chips and salsa while you wait, what could be better. They also have a good tostada del mar that is just pretty to look at when it comes out. Shrimp, slices of avocado, cilantro, tomato and onion. Que bonita.
