Restaurant Review of Sil Restaurant Green Bay, WI

I just had lunch at SIL which has relocated to the historic district in downtown Green Bay. The interior is very bright with one wall of windows, the room is rectangular in shape with open high ceilings. It is very clean, with a contemporary style. For dinning there is a small counter and many tables. As you walk in there is a hostess stand and someone will seat you with a menu.
I decided to start with an appetizer, I ordered their loaded avocado for $12.00, it is a ripe avocado filled with house made shrimp ceviche and served with flat tostones also topped with ceviche. I then ordered the half sandwich Cuban made with roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard on a French baguette, it is served with blue corn chips for $9.99. The blueberry peach pie for $6.00 sounded so good I had to order that also. As I was waiting I could not believe the noise level in the restaurant the acoustics are poor. My server was nice and friendly but she was slow and not on top of her customers. She forgot to bring my appetizer and never refilled my water glass even though it was empty. The other server I noticed was very attentive to his customers and kept refilling their water glasses and making sure they were taken care of. After a long while he even noticed my empty glass then refilled it for me I appreciated that, since that was not his table.
My loaded avocado was ripe, fresh, small to medium in size and just slightly topped with shrimp ceviche and was served with 2 tostones with a little shrimp ceviche on top. The shrimp ceviche was refreshingly delicious but was sparingly used, I would have like the avocado scooped out more and filled with more ceviche especially for the price. The tostones had a nice flavor and were crispy. My Cuban sandwich was very tasty, the baguette was fresh, the pork was of good quality tender with good flavor. The whole sandwich was thick and well made. For dessert my pie was topped with a big dollop of homemade whip cream and together with the pie tasted yummy. SIL does not have a full bar but they do serve wine and beer. Their lunch hours are from 11 to 2 and dinner starts at 4.
