Restaurant Review of Polito's Pizza in Green Bay, WI
By Patricia Summerfield
October 30, 2015
I stopped into Polito's for a quick lunch in downtown Green Bay. Their main menu item and which they feature is pizza as they advertise; home of the Big slice of pizza. Polito's also offer hot sub sandwiches and wings. The interior is bright, with fake partial brick and dark green walls. There are booths that run along the side of the room and a few large tables in front by the window. The restaurant was less than clean the runner rug in front of the counter was in desperate need of a good vacuum. The atmosphere and temperature was cold and the radio was blasting on high volume.
As I walked in the young man behind the counter right off the bat greeted me in a very friendly exuberant manner. Their menu is hanging on the wall off to the side of the counter. Behind the counter glass case were 12 cooked variety of pizzas on trays. I decided on a slice of their chicken Quesadilla pizza for $3.25. The ingredients consisted of : chicken, bacon, jalapeños, tortilla chips, three cheeses, Frank's red hot, and garlic butter. You order and pay for your pizza at the counter. They then reheat the already cooked pizza and tell you when it is ready. The pizza slice was large, the quality of the cheese they use is very good and that is also what it was mostly made of. The other ingredients listed were skimpy. I found 2 tiny jalapeño slices, a few diced chicken pieces, a couple of crushed tortilla chips, some minced bacon. Polito's does not serve alcohol and has a second location in DePere.
