Restaurant Review of Pizzona's in Green Bay, WI
By Patricia Summerfield
November 11, 2010
I just had lunch at Pizzona's restaurant which is located in Bellevue on the far East side of Green Bay. It went under new ownership this past June. The interior is casual but with a touch of class. As you walk in there is nice bar lounge area with many cocktail tables and lots of seating at the bar with a few arcade machines in a corner and flat screen TV's all done in a contemporary decor. There are partial red brick walls in the lounge and dining area with brick red and cream colored walls. Adorning the walls were colorful prints and metal artwork. There are no booths but there is a good amount of seating capacity with wooden tables with red cushioned chairs throughout. There also is plenty of light for they have many large windows with wooden blinds accenting them with newer carpeting in the dining area; the restaurant was immaculate.
I was immediately acknowledged and was told I could sit anywhere and was informed of the specials of the day. I was then brought a menu and was asked if I would like a cocktail from their full bar or a non-alcoholic beverage. Pizzona's has a large menu with many choices from pastas, salads, soups, and pizzas. I decided on a sandwich, their Pizzi's Turkey Panini for $7.99. My sandwich came in a short amount of time; it was warm, generous in size, and looked very tasty. My Panini consisted of turkey smothered with Provolone cheese, leaf lettuce, sliced tomato, red onions, and Italian dressing grilled on white bread. The bread was done to a nice light brown with melted butter with lots of turkey and cheese. The whole thing together tasted scrumptious. Next time I will have to come in the evening for on certain days Pizzona's has live music and offer different drink specials.
