Pine Tree Sports Bar and Grill is located inside Thornberry Creek golf course which is on the Oneida Nation Reservation on the far West side of the city limits of Green Bay. It is located in a beautiful elegant building and part of the restaurant features a very large long brick patio which offers a great vista overlooking the woods and part of their well manicured golf course. The interior of the restaurant has floor to ceiling picture windows on two sides and the walls are all done in a cream colored brick with slate floors and carpeting and in the center is a massive bar with at least 30 flat screened TV's hanging above. It is all open concept and you have a choice to dine in one of their cozy booths, a table, sit at the bar or if it is nice out dine on the fabulous patio.
I noticed they have one of those old fashioned popcorn machines which they keep freshly filled and you may help yourself to a basket compliments of the restaurant. The background music was upbeat rock and the music is also carried outside with the many speakers. Since it was gorgeous day weather wise I chose to have my lunch on the patio. My server promptly came out and brought me a menu with a cloth napkin with rolled silver ware inside and asked if I would like to start out with a beverage. They do have freshly brewed iced tea so I ordered that along with a Chef Salad for $9.99. My salad consisted of a mixture of romaine, spinach, and iceberg lettuce with turkey, ham, Swiss and Cheddar cheese, cucumber, grape tomato, and hard boiled eggs. For my dressing I ordered fat free ranch and fat free French dressings on the side. My salad looked scrumptious; it had a colorful presentation and the meats and cheese were nicely sliced in a julienne style.
Everything was very fresh with the lettuce mixtures being crisp and cold it; was all very delicious. Also included was a parmesan garlic breadstick which was served warm and helped the parmesan and garlic combo shine through. My server throughout my meal was friendly and very attentive which I appreciated since it was early and I was the only one outside dining. I was not forgotten and I did not have to wait for any length of time for anything. When I heard about their turtle sundae dessert made with top quality vanilla bean ice cream, fudge and caramel sauce with in house made caramelized pecans and whipped cream on top I became weak. My sweet tooth took control and I ordered one for $3.68. Well the sundae did not let me down, the vanilla ice cream was packed in tight and blended in nicely with the sauces and the warm caramelized pecans on top. It was divine and worth all the calories. My Pine Tree dining experience was so enjoyable I plan on going back one evening and trying one of the nightly specials.
