Pat McCurdy Description
Pat McCurdy is a musician who hails from Milwaukee and is finding a small but growing cult following across the country. In addition to playing in Milwaukee, he regularly plays all over Wisconsin, as well as northern Illinois (mainly Chicago) and Minneapolis. Sometimes he takes roadtrips to other parts of the country; the next time he does, we'll tell you.

Admittedly, I was really looking forward to catching Pat McCurdy’s show. It had been a very long time, I won’t say how long, since I had last heard him live. The minute he started playing it took me back to all the crazy fun times I’d had seeing him perform. There is no simple way to describe his music, it is uniquely odd and yet comfortably familiar, like songs from camp you want to sing along to over and over. He engages the audience by singing originals that are partial tributes to 80’s and 90’s music, then taking it to a whole other level with impromptu fun. Pat entertains as a one-man show, with no other back up besides his sound and light man, “Pipe” Jim Schafelburger. The crowd at St. Brendan’s was a great mix of dedicated “Pathead” followers, easily spotted by their proximity to Pat and the fact that they could sing along to every song, and the rest of the audience made up of “newbies” and fans like myself. “Amateurs” were able to get up on stage at one point and showcase their talent alongside Pat. And just like I remembered the song, “Sex and Beer” brought down the house. Pat McCurdy, musical/comedy legend, a show you just have to experience for yourself to understand what it’s all about and even then you’ll have just grazed the surface.
