Bar Review of Longshotz in Green Bay, WI

A girlfriend of mine asked me to meet her at Longshotz for a quickie. Drink that is. Longshotz is located in the Green Bay east area off Main Street. There is plenty of parking in the back, FREE parking (I still get a kick out of free parking). When you walk up to the front of this particular bar it looks, well, how do I put this? Not the nicest of places. Okay, so that makes it sound worse than it is, it's just that the front door doesn't have any welcome sign or slogan on it and it looks like you're entering a warehouse store front, not a cool bar. But the second you open the door you enter this super clean and friendly bar. And when I say super clean, I mean it. It smells almost like that laundry soapy smell that you can't seem to breathe in enough of. Walking in, I noticed a door to the left leading to the outside beer garden.
Smokers rejoice! You can light up and have your drink of choice with you while you relax outside. I was greeted by several guys sitting at the bar and a cute bartender but no girlfriend. I took a seat at the bar and ordered a vodka soda. I din't mind waiting for my girlfriend but that doesn't mean that I have to wait for my cocktail. There are plenty of bottled beers in the joint to keep you satisfied but no beer on tap. At least I didn't see any tappers. Longshotz carries all the Bud and Miller products, Coors Light, New Glarus, Corona and more. They also have a wide range of liquor for you to mix it up with. With a name like Longshotz, they certainly don't disappoint in the liquor department. Happy Hour is from 4PM to 7PM Monday through Thursday. I was there on a Tuesday and the special was 2 for 1 sake bombs. Tempting, but I'll stick with my VS. My tall drink of heavenly liquid cost me $3. Yowzas, that's cheap. Inside, there is plenty of room to mix and mingle and towards the front of the place there is a small stage for live bands.
I ventured outside to check out the beer garden. It's a long, but narrow rectangular shape with a full bar, two tables and chairs, darts and heat lamps. The bar part was empty but I'm sure on busy nights they stock it up and it's fully functioning. The heat lamps are a plus, not that you need them now, but when it's closer to the chilly season, man oh man, will that be a nice little bonus. The bar part is covered with a tiki roof/tent thing which makes it nice for those rainy days to still be able to sit outside. My friend ended up canceling, so on a night when she won't ditch me I'll bring her back here. With cheap drinks, an outdoor patio, a relaxed atmosphere and a friendly bartender, what's not to come back to?
