Restaurant Review of LongHorn Steakhouse in Green Bay, WI

LongHorn Steakhouse is located in Ashwaubenon on the western border of Green Bay. The outside and interior has beautiful field stone work and a cowboy western theme throughout. Cowboy boots, western saddles, horse bridles, paintings of various out West landscapes, and metal iron work are tastefully dispersed throughout. There is even a huge stuffed cattle head above the bar in the lounge area and country western music playing in the background.
My server was well trained; she was very knowledgeable about the company and the menu, which was accompanied by a great attitude that made for a very enjoyable dinner. For starters I ordered the LongHorn Shrimp & Lobster dip for $8.49. It was made with smoked gouda, creamy mozzarella cheese, sundried tomatoes, with shredded lobster, and pieces of shrimp, served alongside tortilla chips. The chips were fresh and crispy; the dip had a magic combination with a creamy melt in your mouth flavor. I was also served a round loaf of warm rye bread with whipped butter; the bread was dense, warm, fresh, and flavorable. For my entree I ordered the half a rack of char grilled BBQ Baby Back Ribs for $11.29 which comes with
a jalapeno coleslaw and your choice of an extra side. I chose a sweet baked potato with butter and cinnamon on top. My ribs were to die for, so tender the meat just fell of the bone, the BBQ sauce had a wonderful salty, smoky, spicy balance to it, finger licking good. My sweet potato was baked to perfection; the potato was very creamy and was wonderful with the melting butter mixed with the cinnamon. The coleslaw was bland compared to how I thought it would taste and I could not taste much of any jalapeno. For dessert I ordered the Chocolate Stampede for $6.99, it had two peaks of chocolate cake
packed with six types of chocolate and two scoops of vanilla bean ice cream with real whipped cream. The dessert was humongous and it tasted glorious, the dark cake with the chocolate mousse and dark chocolate shavings accompanied with the ice cream and real whipped cream all melded nicely together, so that it was not overly rich or heavy. The Darden Company's Longhorn Steakhouse assures a satisfied customer with great recipes, service, pricing, and nice portions.
