Restaurant Review of Jazzy Ribz in De Pere, WI

For dinner I went to the newly opened restaurant Jazzy Ribz LLC, which is located in East De Pere. The restaurant is small and cute with wall colors of maroons and greens. There are many jazz themed pictures adorning the walls and a few black and white photos of the rat pack: Dean Martin, Sammy Davis junior, and Frank Sinatra. There are seven tables with dark green and maroon linen table cloths and a side table that have condiments of ketchup and mustard. There are menus on each table and a chalk board menu hung above the register and counter. You put your order in at the counter and pay. Then they bring your food out to your table. Since their specialty is Southern style slow cooked ribs, I decided to order that. The young woman ringing up my order was very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu and answered all my questions about their different style of sauces.

I ordered the whole KC style ribs, which I was informed has the most meat, with the Jazzy Ribz specialty sauce. It’s a mixture of sweet and tangy. You also have a choice of two sides to choose from: fries, potato salad, mac & cheese, cole slaw, beans and sweet potato fries. I chose the baked beans and coleslaw. If that wasn’t enough food, bread is also included in the meal. The total for all this food is $15.95.
As I waited for my food one of the owners stopped by to thank me for coming, he was very outgoing and friendly. Later on during my meal, the other owner also stopped to make sure everything was okay and to fill out a comment card, that were on all the tables, for any input I would have. My dinner came quickly and was served on paper plates with plastic utensils. A pile of moist wipes and napkins were also placed upon the table. My ribs were huge with lots of barbecue sauce on top. My baked beans were served on a separate paper plate with a small plastic container of creamed coleslaw but I never received any bread although I did not realize this till I was finished with my dinner. Now the ribs were awesome tasting, extremely fall off the bone tender with lots of meat and their Jazzy sauce was scrumptious. The sauce was spread on thick and was sweet and tangy, exactly how it was described. The coleslaw was very fresh with a good rich creamy flavor and the baked beans were also delicious with that homemade flavor. Jazzy Ribz would like to keep with the tradition of serving the meals in the Southern style of paper plates but I would have enjoyed my meal more if I was served with real plates and real utensils unless I was sitting and eating outside at a picnic table. Thicker napkins would have also been appreciated. Jazzy Ribz also carries bottled beer and Barefoot wine.
