Review:
Just a block off of Oneida Street right across from Klipstine Park is a little quaint mall that contains Honeybaked Ham & Cafe. It seemed like the perfect hot summer day to pop over to see what types of cool lunches they offer.
We found the sandwich shop to be bright and clean, with a few table for sitting ( I would assume many people take their lunch across the street to enjoy in the park). They have a system of ordering lunch packages.....sort of "Build A Lunch" where you pick a main sandwich (I tried the Chicken Salad Croissant) a side ( mine was Cole Slaw & Chips) a drink (I chose refillable fountain soda) and a dessert if you like (everything from cookies to home made pie slices). Your lunch is constructed if front of you by friendly service people. As I watched, I also noticed the displays that showed off their great Smoked Hams and Roasted Turkeys they are famous for !
My guest and I chose to stay inside to enjoy our meal. It has a peaceful feel with music, with large windows to enjoy the view of outdoors & Klipstine Park. Our food was tasty.....more filling than we thought it would be !! My guest enjoyed a large chef salad, and my "Build a Lunch" was just perfect for a mid-day cooler lunch. I think the professional smoked ham and turkey that they prepare in-house makes their sandwiches a bit different than the "chain" sandwich shops. It will be a cafe that we return to when near the park !
