Bar Review of Highland Howie's in Green Bay, WI

A girlfriend of mine was in the UWGB area and wanted me to meet her at Highland Howie's Pub and Grill. I've heard of the place but was unsure exactly where it was located. She told me to drive past Cliffhangers and head for the huge looking house. A house, huh…okay I thought. But sure enough just a little down the road was this huge house with a Highland Howie's sign. There is even a long ramp for wheelchair accessibility. I thought the house was cute until I realized something. Ever see Children of the Corn? They made, like, 5 of those horror flicks. And they all take place around a farm house out in the middle of corn fields. Highland Howie's is a huge house out in the middle of fields (not corn fields) still, if any little farm boys come walking in, that's it I'm out. There is no way I want the wrath of Malachai.
Lucky for me, the inside of Highland Howie's totally changes your mind on the scary movie setting. The large windows around the place brings in the warm sunlight and with a no smoking policy, the place smells nice and clean. Plus, when you walk in the bartender greets you with a huge grin and a hello. Children of the Corn setting, I think not.
Highland Howie's is a fairly large pub. The bar is super long and there are quite a few tables lining the opposite wall. They also have drink specials during the week to satisfy your inner cheapness. On draught they carry domestics such as Miller Lite, Bud Light, Coors Light, Spotted Cow, and Leinie's seasonal which Summer Shandy is. In bottles, however, they have a lot more. They offer, Corona, Corona Light, Heineken, Stella, La Batt, Sam Adams, Miller products, Bud products, Fat Tire, Peroni, Killians, Smithwicks, Guinness, Hacker Pschorr, Amstel Light, Rolling Rock, Bass, Sierra Nevada, Shiner Bock, the Leinie's line, Capital Island Wheat, Blue Moon and Pacifico. Not to mention two NA favorites, Odouls and Clausthaler. If that isn't enough for you, they have a fully stocked liquor bar and a small wine selection. The wine prices range from $3.50 to $4.50. Nice. And on Thursday you can get a mixed drink pint for $4.00. Double nice. Highland Howie's Pub and Grill is a great place to go to when you want to unwind and relax. Their laid back atmosphere, friendly staff and long drink list can please anyone.
