Bar Review of Fusion Lounge in Green Bay, WI

It was a Saturday night and some girlfriends and I wanted to go out. But not in the party kind of way, just some cocktails, live music, and a mellow atmosphere. How could we ever find a place like that in Green Bay? Easy. Chefusion, baby. Or more exact, The Fusion Lounge.
Chefusion is located in the Historic Broadway District on the corner of Broadway and Dousman. And if you're worried about parking, don't be. They offer valet parking for $5 or if you're like me and you're too stubborn to pay for parking because, “If I can find parking in Chicago then I can certainly find parking here, dammit!” there is also street metered parking. When you walk into the place you can enter on the first floor for their formal dining room or go upstairs into the lounge part; the Fusion Lounge. We climbed the steps and were greeted by a huge crowd. The place was packed! All the tables were full and loads of people were standing up mingling while enjoying the music. The John Kelly Trio was there and they were nothing less than awesome. I was eying for seats at the bar just as I saw a small group of guys leave, score it. The bar is long and trails the left side and tables line the right side and center aisle. We sat down and one of the several bartenders handed us food and drink menus. The atmosphere was just what we wanted, the lights were low, music wasn't pounding in your ears and from the looks of it, the crowd was mostly into their own conversations. When the bartender came back around we ordered Mich Ultra's and then we got two samplers.
One for beer and one for their infused vodkas. The infused vodkas are used with many of their mixed specialty drinks so there are more than a few different flavors to try. All the infused vodkas are homemade. The ones we sampled were lemon flavored, apple, pear, pumpkin spice, cranberry, and pineapple. The lemon one, in my humble opinion, is not as tasty as the others. I'm sure it's delicious in a drink but by itself, oh boy, that one was hard to swallow. Actually, after you try them all it made it pretty easy to drink that one too! The pear one was my fave. Six one ounce tasters ran $8. Watching your friends make funny shot faces over said tasters, priceless.
The beer sampler was like the same thing, except with beer. The samples included: Left Hand Polstar, Bear Rep. Hop Rod Rye, Hennepin Farm House Ale, Draft of the month, Fuller's London Pride, and Corsendonk Apple Belgium. I truly liked all the different beers except for one; the Hennepin Farmhouse had a very different flavor from the rest. The beer sampler costs $6 and is totally worth it. My friends and I had fun picking out our faves.
The whole night was entertaining. The service was great, the live music was heavenly on your ears, the drinks were fun, and the atmosphere at Fusion Lounge had a cool vibe. I will definitely be back!
