Restaurant Review of Fetaz in Green Bay, WI

Interior of Fetaz in Green Bay, WIGreen Bay Restaurant Reviews by Patricia SummerfieldBy Patricia Summerfield
    October 13, 2009
Fetaz is a Mediterranean Restaurant located in Downtown Green Bay, with a new owner and Chef, Luke Boss. The interior is designed with an upscale contemporary atmosphere, with red brick colored walls, and black accents with smooth jazz playing in the background. White linens with fresh flowers adorned the seven tables and the lighting gave off a warm glow with wonderful aromas wafting through the air. Although the menu is small, it does offer some nice selections with a nice wine list to accompany it.

Stuffed Greek Olives at Fetaz in Green Bay, WIFor dinner I started out with two appetizers, the Stuffed Greek Olives for $5.00 and Duck Confit for $6.00. The olives were stuffed with feta and goat cheese and coated with a mint and herb marinade. They had a great flavor but being so much on the salty side I could not finish all of them. The Duck Confit consisted of duck, roasted garlic, caramelized onions, and fresh mozzarella placed on top of a grilled baguette. It had a nice salty sweet balance, and included seven slices.

Seared Yellowtail Tuna at Fetaz in Green Bay, WIThe server was very amiable and knowledgeable but a bit rushed since she was the only person working the floor. For my next course I chose the Local Mixed Greens salad for $6.00. It consisted of marinated olives, feta cheese, local mint, and had a sherry dressing. My salad was presented nicely with a triangular grilled piece of bread on the side of the plate. The salad was very fresh with a delicate burst of flavor with the mint shining through nicely. For my entree I ordered the Seared Yellowtail Tuna for $12.00, with sweet chili sauce, micro greens, and a local scallion relish. My entree focused on a small portion of tuna, which was done perfectly and was blackened with a peppery salty crust, the chili sauce was flavorful, and a nice accompaniment with the tuna but had a more salty than sweet taste to it when paired with the blackened crust. Cheesecake at Fetaz in Green Bay, WIThey do not offer any type of bread or crackers, in fact there wasn't any type of starch included with the entree, just the tuna, sauce, and a handful of greens. I still had an appetite so I ordered the in house cheesecake with a raspberry sauce for $5.00. The cheesecake was made from scratch and was decadently delicious served with a fresh raspberry sauce on top, I was glad I ordered this dessert. Fetaz has fresh ingredients, good service, flavorful food, and an intimate atmosphere.
