Bar Review of Crunchy Frog in Green Bay, WI

One of my BF’s birthdays was this week. And a week before her birthday she found out she won a ½ barrel keg for her and all of her friends. In fact, ANYONE who signs up for this lottery wins – or so I was told. So if you and your thirsty friends want to party down with Keystone Light, then the Crunchy Frog is your place. Disclaimer: It must be on the actual true birthday date, not the midnight of the date, but the date date.
Crunchy Frog is located in the Historic Broadway District just off of; yep you guessed it, Broadway. The best way to describe this joint is simply to say that it’s a punk rock bar. From the sounds to the décor, Crunchy Frog screams punk rock. The place is dark, local band posters adorn the walls and the music that comes from an old school juke box has such artists like AC/DC, Pennywise, Blink 182 and the like.
I arrived at about 10:30PM and it was kinda empty, but when I left at about midnight, the place was filling up. When you walk in the bar part is on the right side and on the left side is a large room with a pool table and two dart boards. The bar is quite long with plenty of stools while on the other side there are a few hi top tables. When bands play, they play up towards the front entrance. Speaking of bands, loads and loads of local bands play at Crunchy Frog every week. You can always catch a show on Saturdays, but some Fridays and other days do have live music as well. There is a $5 cover charge for the live music nights, but there are always, like, 3 or 4 bands playing too. Check out our event calendar or when you’re at Crunchy Frog check out the numerous band posters flooding the walls for the upcoming local band shows.
Beer is super cheap. And I don’t just mean if you’re one of the lucky ones who win a barrel of beer. They have $1.50 cans of PBR Light and I want to say, $2 bottles of PBR and $2 Keystone Light on tap. Plus there are drink specials throughout the week. I do know that on Fridays they have a $10 AUCD for tap and rail mixers. Mind you that is only nights when live bands aren’t playing. As for what kind of beer they carry, on draught they have Keystone Light, PBR, Bud Light and something else but I can’t remember. I suck. For bottles, they have the many other Bud, Miller and Coors products while also offering Spotted Cow, New Castle, Red Stripe, Stella, Leinies and more. As for liquor, yes they have it. And lots of it. Lots. One of my friends ordered a tall Bacardi and Coke, and it ran him $5. Oh yeah, and they only accept cash here. There is an ATM in the back but it was out of order. Make sure you bring your dollas to holla.
