Restaurant Review of The Creamery in De Pere, WI
By Patricia Summerfield

The Creamery which is located in East De Pere offers more than European coffee specialty drinks and teas. They have a nice selection of breakfast and lunch entrees to choose from. I stopped in for lunch and was delightfully surprised after perusing their menu at the variety of gourmet selections. The Creamery has a cozy comfortable atmosphere with light folk music playing in the background. The walls are painted in blue grey colors, in one corner are a few stuffed comfy chairs and for dining are wood tables and a small counter. The server was very friendly and greeted me right away and asked if I would like a beverage.
I decided to order a pot of hot loose leaf Earl Grey tea for $2.00 and then to start out with their soup of day creamed cauliflower, a cup for $3.50 and a chicken roulade sandwich for $13.00. The restaurant was full and I did have to wait 10 minutes for my tea to finish steeping and at least another 30 minutes for my soup. Above the counter is a large blackboard stating all their specials of the day. My server did not inform me of the specials or soup of day until I asked her. My cauliflower soup was pureed and had a delicious flavor but was thin. Unfortunately I did not get my sandwich till after I was there close to an hour. My server apologized for the long wait she informed me that this is not common but they had customers that all seemed to come in at once. My Chicken Roulade sandwich consisted of a chicken breast with baby spinach and boursin cheese sliced onto a French Baquette with tomato concasse and crème fresh. On the side was a dish of green gazpacho which was made with cucumbers, granny smith apples and their in house made granola sprinkled on top. The chicken roulade sandwich was very large and worth the wait the bread was nicely toasted and the chicken breasts was very large and thick it was nicely browned and added with the boursin cheese made for a scrumptious meal. The gazpacho was a very refreshing side as an accompaniment to my sandwich. The Creamery also serves wine and beer.
Bar Review of The Creamery in De Pere, WI
May 17, 2013
Just like with springtime, as flowers and nature are blossoming, so are more and more local hotspots in Green Bay. The Creamery recently opened their doors about a month ago. They reside on the border of the Ledgeview and the De Pere area. The Creamery is considered a coffee and bakery shop with catering options.
You may be thinking, “oh great, another coffee shop, la-di-da,” well, let me give it to you straight. This is not solely another coffee stand. The Creamery claims to have coffee so rich and flavorful that you won’t need to drown it in cream or milk. What makes this coffee so good you ask? It could be that the coffee is hand-selected from genius roasters from around the country, or, it could be that The Creamery uses a pour-over method for extracting the delicious and unique flavors that your coffee has. Perhaps it’s the union of both of these things. For anyone who is unfamiliar with the pour-over method, think of it this way: picture a mad scientist in his lab, pour steaming water from his test tube into his beaker, and swirling it around to get the right concoction. You had no idea that the folks behind The Creamery were really coffee scientists, did ya?
The prices at this De Pere (or is it Ledgeview) coffee shop are quite reasonable. Their coffee is $2.50, and so is their espresso. A tea is $2, a Chai tea is $3 and Hot Cocoa is also $3. They do offer a couple flavors for smoothies, it you want something more on the fresh sweet side. I’m used to making coffee at home with my personal espresso machine (I know, I’m so fancy, right?) and so when I order coffee out, it’s never really how I like it. But The Creamery turned my frown upside-down. I explained to one of the guys how I like it, and he smiled and said, “No problem.” He also told me it was called a Gibraltar, and not the END Special as I had originally thought. Something to keep in mind, these guys brew your coffee when ordered, and do it the pour-over way, so it will take a few minutes to get that liquid heaven made. The extra minute or two is well worth it.
The interior of The Creamery is very cute, and quite homey. It’s a large space, so they can certainly pack a crowd. There are a few cozy lounge chairs to relax in, a few good sized tables with chairs, and a bar/ledge along one side of the wall with more chairs to sit. I should note, the chairs are really, really comfortable. And I’m not talking about the lounge chairs; I’m referring to the chairs set around the tables and the bar/ledge area. True comfort, right there.
The Creamery is a wonderful new addition to the Green bay area. I don’t talk about food in my reviews, but I should point out that they offer a few bakery items, including a gluten-free coffee cake. They also offer a select number of sandwiches and soups for lunch. I did try all three of their bakery goodies, because I’m like cookie monster with sweets, and boy, oh boy, were they delicious.
