Review of the Green Bay Bullfrogs in Green Bay, WI

This week's written account for my adventure has nothing to do with a bar. It has nothing to do with a restaurant. I'll give you a hint; it starts with a 'B' and ends in 'ullfrogs game.' It wasn't a game this past week but a couple before. I had the pleasure of being invited and at the time it didn't really occur to me to write about it, but after the experience kinda marinated with me a bit I thought why not. Seriously, why not... they serve beer, they serve food and it's in the Brown County area. Check, check and triple check.
For those of you not in the know (like I was) the Bullfrogs play in the Joannes Stadium which is located in the Green Bay East area. Tickets are pretty inexpensive and the drinks aren't bad either. Tickets run $6 and beers are $3.50 but I think the beers are 16 oz. I could be wrong, it has happened once or twice in my life. Now don't get crazy ideas with the choices for beer, they carry a select few, Land Shark, Bud Light and something else. Also there are drink specials throughout the game against the other team. A few times when the opposing team was up to bat, if he struck out then beers were $1 until the next inning. Cool huh? If that doesn't get your team spirit up then there's no hope for you. It also seems like the games all have a different theme. Kinda. The game last night the Bullfrogs gave out John Anderson bobble heads to the first 500 people. The game I attended was a charity event for breast cancer. If you look on their schedule it will tell you what fun thing or charity event the Bullfrogs are hosting. At the game you could purchase raffle tickets, complete in a silent auction for the Bullfrog boys game jerseys, or simply give a donation. Throughout the game there were silly games and fun things to watch on the field while the boys had a quick respite. It definitely made it for a fun time. The Cubs and White Sox are the type of games I'm used to: crappy seats, huge crowd, expensive beers, and kinda boring. And I thought the Bullfrogs would be just like that. I was totally wrong. It's at a much smaller stadium which makes it more intimate and you feel like you're literally right in the middle of the game. There are no bad bleacher seats; you can actually see the players without paying a couple hundred smackers.
The Bullfrogs ended up losing but that just means I'll have to keep coming back to watch them win. And I'll have to buy a Bullfrogs visor before my next trip, I inadvertently wore my Cubbies one and that's not fair for my new fave Green Bay boys.
