Bar Review of Buddha's Still in De Pere, WI

It was a Friday night and a couple of girlfriends were itchin' to go out. Where o' where is a place that serves alcohol in the dry town? Maybe has some live music with a lively party atmosphere all while Buddha is feng shui-ing it up in the background? Did you guess it at the Buddha part? You smarty pants you, yes, it is Buddha's Still. Buddha's Still is formerly Jameson's Pub located on the West side of De Pere. This part of De Pere is nice. It is so easy to bar hop while walking and NOT driving. You have so many places to choose from: Buddha's, Nicky's, The Abbey, Shakers, Long Branch, Jerseys... you get the idea.
As I was saying, a couple of girlfriends and I ventured to Buddha's. There are kinda two parts to this place. The back bar with plenty of tiki wooden stools surrounding the bar, a pool table and a few booths for window seats. The front side has more tables and is where the bands rock out. We chose the back side and sat our thirsty behinds at the bar. If you go from 2-7PM any weekday you can catch their 2-for-1 happy hour. Otherwise, domestic beers will run you $3.50 for one. I am lame and wasn't in the mood for liquor so I ordered a Bud Light. No surprise there. And actually all my girls ordered beers so I thought it would be a chill night. Buddha's has more than plenty different types of beers for you to enjoy. All the Miller and Bud products are available mostly in bottles with a couple on tap too. Also on tap they have the favorites, like, Blue Moon and Guinness. As for the liquor part, I think they have every imaginable type of intoxicant possible. This comes in handy when your friends and you order a beer, then another, but then the 3rd beer will only go down with a shot in hand too. I should know better that Friday nights are never a chill night. That and with the crowd, music and a Buddha smiling down on me telling me it's okay to drink it wasn't going to be a chill night. Buddha's Still is the place to be for a good time and live music. One thing, before I forget, is to have your ID ready. The bouncers are at the doors with scanners ready to "bounce" out the underage kids.
