Restaurant Review of Brett Favre Steakhouse in Green Bay, WI

Since I live in Packer Country I decided to try dinner at Brett Favre's Steakhouse. We asked the hostess if we should register since we wanted a cocktail before dinner and she assured us it was not necessary to put our name in.
The lounge area contains a very long bar with cocktail tables all with dark finishes; to the right is a trophy case and also a few flat screen TVs. They also have a happy hour from 3-6, but the only drinks that were on special were Miller Lite and Bud Lite for $2.00 - nothing exciting. The bartender and cocktail waitress were both very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately when we went into dine we were told it would be a ten minute wait, we were very disappointed especially since we were told it would not be a problem. The dining area consists of two large rooms with Brett Favre memorabilia on all the walls. The tables were very close together with table linens and small candles on top. The menu didn't offer many heart healthy options and the price of their steaks averaged from $20.00 to $38.00, which includes your choice of potato and dinner rolls, if you want to add wild mushrooms or fried onions it would cost $4.00 each. I ordered Brett's Famous Chopped Salad and my husband ordered the Filet Mignon. The server was efficient but not very warm or friendly; she gave me the impression that the only thing on her mind was a quick turnover. The server informed my husband that their filet mignon are butterflyed. My salad consisted of fried proscuitto, crumbled bleu cheese, black olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onions with a wine vinaigrette and I also added chilled shrimp for $4.00 extra. My salad was tasty but was too heavily saturated with the dressing, in one word - soggy. My husband's steak was tender and tasted as though they had used a tendererizer on the meat and the jumbo baked potato was grossly huge, in fact it was comparable to the size of a small toy football. While we were eating the server just tossed the covered basket on the table without saying a thing or bothering to explain the type of breads and butters. I would have to say that the best part of the dining experience was looking at all the Brett Favre trophies and memorabilia.
