I visited this restaurant and cannot wait to go back on Valentine’s Day! The food was amazing, and I felt like a special guest in someone’s home.

Never have I wanted a Green Bay restaurant to succeed as much as I hope Art & Soul Cafe will. It is classic soul food such as fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato pie, candied yams, corn bread, and amazing ribs among many other specialties. The food is downhome and simple, but simply delicious. Open about since late November 2009 I believe, I have been back twice. The candied yams are seriously calling me like a siren song. Your dining hosts, Cat & Jim are gracious and friendly and obviously have a passion for their food. The cafe is located in a small brick building just outside The Art Garage on Main St. This place has had a few cafes in it, but this one is a true original and much needed on the GB food landscape. Decor is plain and sunny and as comforting as the food that comes to the table. As time moves on, they will find their footing on the service front and plan to offer a full menu every day (right now they offer daily selections from the menu). Portions are generous and costs are decent so it is an excellent value. As the owner tells it, they are offering a special event involving seafood for Valentine's Day. My husband insists all that is missing is a signature beverage!
