Restaurant Review of Tony Roma's in Green Bay, WI

I went out for an early dinner at Tony Roma's restaurant which is located on the far West side of Ashwaubenon. The interior decor has a warm rich atmosphere with colors of charcoal, browns, grays, and sand colored beautiful brick walls with pillars and large green plants scattered throughout the dining areas. The light fixtures are long cream colored cylinder shades which hang from high ceilings and all the booths are raised on a half foot level from the main floor where all the tables are arranged. As you first walk in there is a nice bar lounge area with a few flat screen TVs located throughout lounge and the restaurant. The acoustics are very nice with smooth relaxing music playing in the background.
The hostess greeted me as soon as I walked in and brought me to a nice roomy comfortable booth. My server promptly brought the dinner menu and specialty drink menu and asked if I would like to start out with a cocktail and suggested a Bloody Mary, since it was still early in the day I just opted for ice water which was served in a tall clear glass. My server was personable and had no problem with the knowledge of the menu and explaining any questions I had about certain dishes. I started out with the appetizer Kickin' Shrimp for $8.99 it consisted of small shrimp fried to a crispy golden brown and tossed in a creamy sauce. My appetizer came in a large jumbo martini glass heaping full over a bed of mixed greens with 2 dozen medium size shrimp evenly tossed in a light creamy sauce with black and white sesame seeds and diced scallion greens sprinkled on top with two small wood skewers one on each side. It was a festive presentation and the shrimp were delectable. The light warm batter on the shrimp blended wonderfully with slightly sweet sauce. I was then brought out a small loaf of French bread with herb whipped butter on the side. The bread was warm and had a nice dense inside and I enjoyed the butter spread the herbs were not salty or seasoned too heavy.
Next came my main entree the Roma Rack for $17.99 which is a tender lean pork loin meat basted with TR's original sauce - they do offer different types of sauce but I chose the Tony Roma's. The ribs came with a side of creamy coleslaw and you have a choice of another side which I decided on the toasted garlic green beans. Fred Flintstone would be happy, these ribs were bountiful and fall off the bone tender and the sauce had a sweet spicy flavor with just a little bite to it, just right. I also enjoyed my green beans; the texture was semi crispy and nicely coated and seared in a garlic butter sauce. My coleslaw had a slight crunch to it, but it did not have that fresh homemade flavor that you experience versus a precut packaged variety.
To end my meal I ordered one of their mini desserts for $2.99, The Raspberry Brownie Royale. It consisted of two warm rich mini brownies, one scoop of vanilla ice cream, and was drizzled with raspberry sauce. I do like that they offer two different choices of a smaller or larger dessert especially after a heavy meal. The brownies were more like a cake than a moist heavy brownie but it all tasted good. To end the meal my server brought me a pre packaged warm lemon scented towelette and a mint, a nice ending to an enjoyable meal at Tony Roma's.
