Bar Review of Speakeasy in Green Bay, WI

My karaoke enthusiastic friends were in the mood to belt out a few, while I was in the mood to put down a few. As in beers. I'm not one for singing but I will certainly sit down, relax and have a nice cold one while I watch other people murder beloved classic songs. Now I'm just being caddy, most of the people were pretty good. But for some, well, perhaps practice makes perfect? But no matter good, bad and the ugly at Speakeasy, you're never judged and everyone gives a hearty round of applause. How do you like them apples? My friends sure do. And that's why they love to pop on over at Speaks any Wednesday night they can. Speakeasy has karaoke nights and sometimes even has bands; I would look on our event calendar, check them out on Facebook, or just go there to see what's happening that particular night.
It was probably around 11PM or so when I met up with my karaoke pals. Speakeasy is located on the east side of Green Bay, open daily in the evening for your convenience. Speakeasy reminds me of bars in Chicago, it looks small on the outside but then when you step in you see that somehow it magically has grown and expanded into a long and narrow bar. The bar part is on the left and on the right are hi top tables and the karaoke stage area. In the back you have a pool table and darts. The walls are exposed brick with high ceilings. I was about to order my usual Bud Light when I saw that they serve mixed beverages in a mason jar! Who doesn't want to drink bubbly in a jar?! I sure do, so I switched my order to a vodka soda water, and you better believe that it tasted so much sweeter. And by sweeter I mean awesome. If I didn't already fall in love with Speakeasy then and there, I would have when I later noticed Jack Daniel bottles randomly hanging from the ceiling. Yes, sometimes it takes me a while to notice things, stop judging. Anyway, Mr. Daniels and I go way back, to my Chicago party days, and he will always hold a special place in my heart. So when I see him so proudly displayed I tend to get excited.
Speakeasy has plenty of alcohol for anyone and everyone. On tap they carry Miller Lite, PBR, Bud, Bud Light and a couple others. In terms of the bottled variety they have the fan favorites of Miller, Bud and Coors products. I even saw a couple of Mike's Hard Lemonade for all you hardcore drinkers. As for liquor, take your pick and get creative, they have all kinds of all brands. One of my friends sure did. She had the bartender whip up some shots that taste just like pancakes. That's right pancakes. You won't stay thirsty here.
Fun Fact: Speakeasy has two definitions on Wikipedia, the first talks about bootlegging booze during the Prohibition time and the second one, which I find interesting, talks about a kickass bar in Green Bay, that serves alcohol, has cool bartenders and a lively atmosphere. If Wikipedia states that, it MUST be true :)
