The 1st Tuesday of every month is All-You-Can-Eat Liver at Sidekicks..........so having 2 liver & onion fans in the family......we popped over for supper. Sidekicks is a smaller family type bar & grill in De Pere right across from Festival Foods. I enjoy it a lot more now that it is smoke free! There is an assortment of TV's displaying various sporting events, and the friendly staff does a great job in keeping the atmosphere light and enjoyable. There was a small table of complimentary hors de oeuvres, such as chips and veggies and such, which we enjoyed before ordering our food. The liver lovers in the family thoroughly enjoyed the endless liver and onions with rye bread. The rest of us delighted in various burgers. I loved the California Burger, while my son always gets their scrumptious mushroom swiss burger. I ordered their "Onion Strings" as a side, which is basically straight onion rings, and with their special batter were just awesome. The great thing about the burgers is you could tell they were not "cookie cutter" burgers, but homemade and hand pressed for a great homemade flair. There was an assortment of video games and juke boxes and such, to give the bar a small town homey feel. The crowd is more family oriented, with most patrons belonging in the 35+ age range, which is a nice alternative to the "big, hip, loud, younger crowd" places around town. All in all, a nice, friendly, tavern with great food at good prices served by nice people.
