Bar Review of Shakers in Green Bay, WI

June 30, 2011
It was a Friday night and a few girls and I wanted to have just one drink. One and done. But when we stopped over at Shaker's, we ended up saying 'one and done' a couple more times. Totally not our faults.
Shaker's bar is located on the west side of De Pere just off Main Street. There is plenty of free street parking directly in front plus it's also a hop, skip and a jump from other parking lots across the way.
It was around 10:30ish when we arrived and the place was buzzin'. There were guys playing pool and darts, while others were sitting at the bar. We walked up to the bar and ordered two vodka soda waters and one vodka tonic. Double tall rail mixers run $5 a piece. Not the cheapest. BUT we were d–bags and didn't pay attention to the tons of drink specials and cheap beer they offer. There were many signs and posters displayed saying the good deals. One of the cool drink specials started at 11PM. Our previously purchased rail mixers drop down to 3 bucks at that magical hour, so, of course we had to stay to use and abuse that one. The bar was a bit crowded so we sat at one the several hi-top tables and had some very important gossip time.
Shaker's is like part sports bar, part dive bar and part neighborhood bar. Random beer signs and posters lined the walls with, of course, some Packer slogans too. The bartender was cool and so were the regulars we bumped into.
As I said before, Shaker's Bar does have daily drink specials; give them a call to get the low-down. For tap beer they carry Bud, Bud Light, Coors Light, Miller Lite, the Champagne of Beers (Miller High Life), a Leinies, Spotted Cow and something else, at least I think. As for bottles, they have plenty more of the Miller, Bud and Coors products you know and love. And for their list of liquor, you can check mark the yes box. They have all kinds, all brands, all the time. Just ask the bartender to shake something up for you. Get it? Shake at Shaker's? Yeaaaaahh, slightly lame but I couldn't resist. Oh, I should mention their burgers. I don't talk about food, that's Patricia's place, but Shaker's also has a buck burger night. Or, more specifically, $1.50 burger night, still that's a deal!
Later on in the night looking around you'd see a diverse crowd all having a good time. People were playing pool, throwing darts, shakin' dice and just mingling.
