The restaurant the Rite Place is located in Bellevue on the East side of Green Bay. The interior of the restaurant is open concept with a large bar situated on the right side of the room and with high and low top tables for dining. The atmosphere is bright, casual, comfortable and very clean. The interior has large picture windows surrounding the dining area, a high ceiling with ceiling fans, tile floors, 8 to 10 game machines towards the back corner, and a large TV hanging above the bar area.
There was no hostess on duty and I was told just to sit anywhere I would like. The server then came to bring me a menu and asked for my beverage order. I also noticed by the door as you walk in was a board stating the specials of the day. The menu had a nice selection of various choices. The Rite Place is known for its home style cooking like homemade booyah, baked chicken dinners, broasted chicken, chili, and hamburgers. Today one of the specials was their baked chicken plate for $7.95 which is what I ordered. The Rite Place's chicken plate included dressing, coleslaw, one dinner roll, and your choice of potato: baked, French fries, roasted, or mashed - I chose the French fries. The food came out after a reasonable amount of time; the chicken plate consisted of four pieces of chicken: one wing, one breast, one thigh, and one drumstick; the meat was done to a nice golden brown and was so tender it just fell off the bone. It was warm and was full of great flavor. The dressing was homemade and reminded me of my mother's recipe, it was delicious, moist, and the seasonings were integrated well into the meat mixture. The coleslaw was creamy and minced it was very fresh and had a good tangy sweet flavor. The French fries were soft and tasted bland, next time I would order and try their mashed potatoes. The Rite Place also has a separate bar and large dining room that is connected to the building for private parties and evening dinners.
