I stopped in for lunch at the Red Robin restaurant, which is located in Ashwaubenon on the West side of Green Bay. Red Robin is a restaurant chain that is popular for their American hamburgers. It is a family style restaurant and also carries wine, beer and has a full bar menu. As soon as you walk in the atmosphere is bright, busy, boisterous, and casual. The first thing I noticed when I entered was a large life like Statue of Liberty and instead of a torch she was holding up a hamburger. Off to the side of the statue was a small area with a few arcade game machines. The décor has many American items of memorabilia placed throughout the restaurant with the main colors of bright reds and yellows.
The host greeted me in a very friendly manner, and then quickly proceeded to sit me at a table with a menu. The menu is quite large and also offers salads and soups. My server came quickly, was very friendly and inquired if I have ever been here before, and then proceeded to tell me of some of the specials and soups for that day. Since their specialty is hamburgers I decided to order that. They have a nice variety of different types of hamburgers and they also give you the choice to build your own if you so choose to. There are a variety of different buns, cheeses and toppings to pick from. When you order a hamburger there is an unlimited amount of steak French fries that comes with it, but if you prefer not to have fries, you can substitute for a salad, coleslaw or a vegetable. This is all free of charge. I ordered the classic American cheeseburger for $8.79. For my cheese I chose monterey jack and I also ordered the French fries. My cheeseburger came quickly and was partially wrapped in paper with steak fries on the side. My cheeseburger was very large, close to half a pound, and was placed on a nice large fresh sesame white bun. On the bottom of the bun were thick kosher dill pickle slices evenly covering my bun and on top of the pickles was nice thin slice of red onion. Next came the meat and then finally on top of that was a thick melted slice of cheese with condiments of mayo and ketchup. Their classic cheeseburger also includes sweet pickle relish, lettuce and tomato but I asked not to have that on my burger. The Red Robin’s cheeseburger was super delicious; the meat was wonderfully seasoned and very moist. You can tell they use quality ingredients for their bun and toppings. The steak fries were large and done to a golden brown. They were so good I asked for seconds. My service throughout my meal was very efficient and I truly had a great tasty American hamburger at the Red Robin.
