Restaurant Review of The Ravine in Green Bay, WI

Green Bay Restaurant Reviews by Patricia SummerfieldBy Patricia Summerfield

For dinner I went to the restaurant The Ravine. It is located in Bellevue, which is on the far side of East Green Bay. There is a nice size bar to one side of the room and off to the right of the bar in a corner is a small recreational area with pool table and different arcade machines. The restaurant is very clean with a casual atmosphere. There are many tables for dining with nice large windows that surround part of the restaurant and there are also many flat screen TVs situated throughout for easy viewing. Towards the back of the restaurant is a huge separate room which is reserved for weddings and various private parties. The back walls of the room have massive floor to ceiling picture windows which looks out onto a wooded lot. The Ravine Pub & Grill in Green Bay, WI

Even though it was not Friday, they do offer on their menu perch, which they serve daily. I ordered their perch plate for $12.99 which consists of rye bread, coleslaw and your choice of potato. The potato choices were: baked, roasted, baby reds, mashed or fries. I chose the fries. My food came in a quick amount of time and my perch and potatoes were nice and hot. The coleslaw was served in a small plastic container; it was the creamed variety and it was very fresh and tasty. There were six large perch fillets lightly breaded with homemade tartar sauce on the side. The perch had a nice fresh flavor and the tartar sauce was also very good, it had a nice hint of onion to it. The bread were two slices of mixed dark and light rye buttered and cut in half. My service throughout my meal was efficient and friendly.

Bar Review of the Ravine in Green Bay, WI

END - Wanna Be Bar, Tavern, and Pub Reviewer in Green Bay, WIBy END
The Bar at the Ravine in Green Bay, WIFebruary 16, 2010
A few friends and I were feeling a bit cabin-feverish and needed to get outta the house. With the Winter Olympics kicking off this past weekend I was in the mood to hit up a bar with massive flat screen TV's and cheap beer. Growing up I was in love with the Summer Olympics. Being raised in Florida, the Summer Games were just a little more accessible for my brother and me to partake in. Since living in the Mid West and now the Frozen Tundra I have a whole new respect for winter athletes. Snowboarding is badass, and downhill skiing looks like such a thrill. The figure skating events cause me to hold my breath with anxiety, I'm so nervous for anyone to fall. And when any ice skater lands that triple toe axel jump loop I cheer, like I even know what I'm talking about when I say triple toe axel jump loop. Anyway, The Ravine seemed like the perfect place to kick up our feet and relax with a cold one while watching the Games.

Miller Lite at the Ravine in Green Bay, WIThe Ravine is located in Bellevue. And it's huge! You walk in to this large area with a clover-esque shaped bar and plenty of high tops and regular sized tables around it. There is also a stage set up for Thursday night DJ Karaoke or any other band that plays. They also have a banquet hall in the back and it looks to be even bigger than their main bar/dining area. One of my girlfriends told me that her Grandma's retirement community center has their Christmas parties there. How cute. I said we came for large flat screen TV's; The Ravine has 'em. We also came for cheap beer; The Ravine has that too. Their domestic pints are just $2 from Monday to Thursday. You have your choice of Miller Lite, Bud Light and Coors Light. For just a little more they have a wider selection of tappers that include, Stella, New Castle, Amber Bach, Shock Top, Honey Weiss and Blue Moon. By the way, Shock Top was widely popular in Chicago. I haven't really seen it here in the GB often. If you're not in the draught beer frame of mind, they have bottled beer, select wines, and a full liquor bar to quench your thirst.

They also have darts, a pool table, and a few arcade games if you're diggin' a more playful scene. Smoking is allowed but the place wasn't smoky at all. That's always nice. The Ravine accepts all major credit cards but there is an ATM if you need one. Adorning the walls were fliers of beer specials, upcoming band events and promotions for DJ nights. One of their beer specials is for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. It's half off drink prices from 10-11PM. Not a bad deal. Hanging out at The Ravine for a few drinks and watching the Olympics made for a great night. It was the perfect place for some sports watching, cheap beer, and lively conversation. Maybe I should cozy up to Grams and get invited to her shindig next year ;)
