Sad to hear this location closed. This was a favorite of my wife and I. Recently went to the Webster Avenue location and was just as good, however this building was definitely better and more aestically appeasing.

Review:
Since I am a pretty fair fan of Mexican cuisine.....my son and I decided to pop over to Los Magueyes for lunch, since we pass it often at the end of Oneida Street, and it's bright colorful exterior always catches our eye. As we entered the building, we found the colorfulness is even brighter and cheerier on the inside, with Mexican art murals on the walls, and roomy, clean dining areas. We found a large variety of dishes on the menu........so my son opted to try a seafood dish......Garlic Shrimp Plate with Rice & Beans. I decided on a standard Beef Chimichanga with Guacamole Salad and Beans. They are rumored to have excellent margaritas, but since it was 11am I chose the Coke Products, and my son ordered the Pink Lemonade. The food was delivered quite timely, and was proceeded by a free serving of their homemade chips and salsa, which was delightful. Both the shrimp plate and the Chimichanga plate were quite tasty, being exactly a good size to fill you up, but not over stuff you. The pricing was good, less than a fancier Mexican sit-down restaurant.....but a tiny bit more than a fast food restaurant. We were thrilled to use a coupon from The Saving Cash Magazine that offered a lunch at Half Price, so with refillable drinks, 2 deluxe lunch plates, free hors de oeuvres, and tax and tip, it was about $ 7.99 per person. The endearing quality to this establishment is you can tell quite quickly that this restaurant is owned and operated by authentic Mexican chefs who are proud to serve their best dishes, and do so with very friendly service ! It was a fun, quick lunch, and I imagine can be even more fun as a after work meeting spot or supper location !
