Restaurant Review of Julie's Cafe in Green Bay, WI

I went for breakfast at Julie's Café which is located on the east side of Green Bay. It is a casual family style restaurant which offers home style cooking. The interior is done in dark aqua colors with floral and ivy murals painted on the walls, there are many booths, a long counter, and a few large tables for dining. They have vaulted ceilings with ceiling fans and silk green plants hanging throughout and on one side of the restaurant are large picture windows.
Julie's Café has a very large menu including lunch and dinner items. A couple of their more popular menu items are their liver and onions and their chicken. As I walked in the hostess did not give any type of greeting just asked one and sat me at a booth with a menu and said your waitress will be here. The server barely gave a smile, just brought my ice water and asked if I was ready to order and pointed out some specials for the morning on a table tent. I decided to order one of their omelets, the Northern Omelet for $5.79, which consisted of cured ham, fresh mushrooms, and Wisconsin cheese folded in farm fresh eggs and your choice of toast, a muffin top, or mini cakes, I chose rye toast. The omelet came rather quickly, it was large and hot and served with a tiny container of homemade jelly with my toast. The omelet was filled with a good amount of ham and mushrooms but the ham was overly salty and so finely minced it could have been ground up - not the best quality. The toast was also not of the freshest or best quality but I thought the strawberry jelly was very good. Although Julie's Cafe lacks in friendly service and quality food, the restaurant does have larger portions and lower prices.
