Restaurant Review of Golden Basket Restaurant in Green Bay, WI

I went for breakfast at the Golden Basket restaurant which is located on the West side of Green Bay. It has been recently renovated and the interior decor was tastefully done. The ceilings are high with 3 main large overhead light fixtures. They hang in the center of the room that has a circular picture of the sky painted inside with the light shining on it. Their main color themes are done in sage green and gold with attractive tiles on parts of the floors and walls. There are many wooden arched booths with comfy padded gold vinyl seats and padded material covered backs in the sage green. The atmosphere is casual and bright for there are many windows that surround the restaurant.

The hostess was friendly and brought me to a booth in a section of the restaurant which located on the side. It is semi closed off from the main dining area. Golden Basket has a huge menu with many choices to choose from. My server came quickly and was also very friendly.  They brought me a large glass of ice water and asked if I was ready to order. I decided on the Eggs Benedict with potatoes for $6.59. It includes 2 eggs, grilled slice of ham with Hollandaise sauce, an English muffin and a choice of American fries or hash browns. My server asked if I would like my eggs poached; which I did, and I chose for my potato the hash browns.

My food came very quickly and looked delicious. It was hot and cooked correctly. On my plate was a large serving of hash browns, which were lightly browned and not greasy. There were also 2 large sized poached eggs with a thick large piece of grilled Virginia ham underneath them which were on top a toasted English muffin. It was all nicely covered with rich Hollandaise sauce. I also was given 2 slices of whole wheat buttered toast on a side plate. My breakfast was delicious and was more than enough to eat. During my meal the hostess came by to ask if everything was okay. Golden Basket also serves lunches and dinners. They do not accept checks.
