Restaurant Review of Alpha Delights in De Pere, WI

For lunch I went to the Greek restaurant and bakery Alpha Delights which is located in East De Pere. As I walked in the first thing I noticed was a clear glass case showcasing all their elegant and artistically decorated luscious cakes, tortes, and Greek pastries which were sorely tempting my taste buds. The interior is quaintly and colorfully decorated with baby blue ceilings and walls and hand painted murals of Greek ruins. The wooden tables and chairs are all painted in different bright colors.

You order and pay at the counter and you help yourself to water and coffee which is located on a small table. The tables are all tightly contained in a small dining area which is congested, but there are nice large picture windows on one whole side of the wall facing the parking lot. The ceilings are very high and the acoustics are not the best; it is noisy and it echoes. I ordered the Gyro sandwich plate for $7.50 which included a small lettuce salad. You find your own seating arrangements and they bring your food out to you. My lunch was attractively arranged on the plate; my salad consisted of cucumber and tomato slices on top of freshly mixed greens and was evenly coated in a vinaigrette dressing. The dressing was delicious, homemade with a very good quality of olive oil. My sandwich contained a few slices of gyro meat grilled in a half pita pocket and sliced in half with a creamy cucumber dressing on the side. The sandwich was done very well with a great flavor but the pita was toasted to a hard crunch which made it messy for the meat when mixed with the dressing made it slide out very easily. Alpha Delights has flavorful food with modest portions and beautiful confectioneries.
