Terrible Food - bad service, 01-30-2012

Review:
Went with a group of 14 on a Wednesday night - Place was empty!! After we got our dinners we knew why. Not 1 of us had a meal that was decent! The Prime rib was awful - cold and so salty that we just left it cause it was not worth taking home. Servers were terrible - we had to repeatedly ask for things and they were down-right rude!! Having a large group a 10% tip was added to the bill which everyone was upset about. We all agreed - None of us will be back.

Recently went to this place with another couple and overall enjoyed the experience. The food was pretty good. I enjoyed the Prime Rib sandwich, which was big and reasonably priced (under $10). My wife had the jumbalaya and it was just okay, although we were spoiled to have jumbalaya in New Orleans. She got the half sized which was reasonable and surprisingly really large. Service was friendly although slow at times, especially on an evening that wasn't busy. Ambiance was very classy. It was a slow week night so atmosphere was on the slow side. Overall good food, reasonable prices and service. I would recommend and also go back.

I have been a regular customer at 1951 West for a number of years now, and will not be going back. The food is good, but the service is not acceptable. Tonight I ordered the baked haddock, but when our meals came, the fish had cheese melted on it. I asked the server if that was cheese on my baked haddock, and she replied no, and left before I could say anything about the meal. When she returned, I said that this was the stuffed haddock and not the baked. The server then removed the plate and said that she would get me the baked haddock. By the time my meal came back, my husband was done with his meal, and I wasn't hungry anymore. The server then boxed my meal and sent me on my way. Reheated fish is not what I paid for. On other visits, I have had my prime rib served while I was still eating my salad. I've ordered menu items that were served without all of the items listed in the menu. I don't need to spend good money on bad service.

1951 bar/restaurant has a tremendous atmosphere with a very courteous staff. The bar has a wide range of liquor and the restaurant offers a number of unique options. The food is always very well prepared. We always stop when we are in the Green Bay area.

I greatly enjoy going out with friends to 1951 West. Very modern restaurant with great food. Bar area is very enjoyable and easy to converse with friends. Choice of food is wide open, sandwiches are my favorite. Prime Rib and Chicken Bruschetta sandwiches are my favorites. If I don't pick one of the those I always go for the Seafood. Highly Recommend making it a point to eat here.

The new remodeled Rock Garden is amazing and the new name is great! The food is still the same, completely awesome. Try the Sunday Brunch and you won't be sorry. I found that the Sunday Brunch is better than the Mother's Day Brunch if you are looking for a more intimate dining experience. Classy classy environment. I love it!
